DESCRIPTION:ARL Main\n5452 NE 22nd Street Des Moines\, IA 50313\n                    \n\n\n            Contact:  \n            Volunteer Services (volunteer@arl-iowa.org) \nSend your young animal lover to a week of fun at Camp Kindness at the ARL! \nThis half-day camp\, held August 4th–8th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.\, is designed for kids entering 2nd through 4th grade and offers hands-on learning\, crafts\, games\, and plenty of time with shelter animals—all centered around kindness\, empathy\, and animal care. \nWhether your child comes for the animals\, the fun activities\, or to make a difference\, Camp Kindness is the purr-fect way to spend a summer morning! \nSpots are limited\, so sign up soon to give your child a week they’ll never forget—and help animals in need along the way. \nCost is $150 per child\, and space is limited\, so be sure to sign up by July 26 to reserve your spot! \nRegister here! \nImportant: All campers must have a signed waiver on file to participate. The waiver form will be included in your registration confirmation—please be sure to complete and return it before the first day of camp!

The cats love these cozy pieces\, and it helps to give them a feeling of home while they are in our care at the ARL.  \nHow To Join \n	Create your volunteer profile\n	After your application is approved\, you will receive instructions on how to sign up for the next event and log your hours from home!\n	When you are all finished\,  kindly drop off any creations at ARL Main or ARL Animal Services during normal business hours!  \nIf you are a current volunteer\, sign in to your VicNet Profile to log your hours.  \nYarn  \nThe ARL receives generous donations of yarn from local yarn shops and local knitters. Knittin’ for Kitten volunteers have the option to use their own yarn or the donated yarn. Donated yarn can be picked up in the Volunteer Services Office at ARL Main on weekdays from 12 – 6 p.m. or 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on weekends.  \nInterested in donating yarn or have a favorite yarn shop? \nThe ARL is looking for local yarn shops to host donation bins for yarn skeins that aren’t quite big enough to make a sweater\, but purr-fect for making a cat blanket!  \nWe accept donations of standard acrylic yarn and knits. We cannot accept long-fibered yarn (i.e.\, eyelash yarn\, roving wool\, etc).  \nNeed inspiration?
