Guardians will learn how to teach their dogs in a humane manner using positive reinforcement methods which in turn will enrich their relationship with their dog. Classes consist of 4 weekly sessions\, each lasting about 50 minutes. Topics to be covered will include\, but are not limited to: \n	Understanding canine behavior and communication\n	Basic manners: sit\, down\, come\, stay\, loose leash walking\n	How positive reinforcement works and why we use it\n	Problem solving\n	Problem prevention\n	Training tricks for fun and to impress your friends! \nPrerequisites\nNo prior class is needed to attend Good Manners \nThis class meets once a week for four weeks. Participants will be required to watch the orientation video prior to coming to the first class via the link below.  \n \nFor any issues regarding the orientation video\, please contact dogtraining@arl-iowa.org or call 515-473-9131.  \nDoes your dog consistently react strongly to humans or other dogs? \nReactive dogs have a hard time focusing on their owner during the class making it hard for them to learn and retain the information they are being taught.
